Responsible growth and better infrastructure

Growth must come with infrastructure. As new homes and businesses arrive, our roads, drainage, lighting and sidewalks have to keep pace, and developers must be accountable for the impact they create.

Safe neighborhoods and stronger communities

Every family deserves to feel safe. That means resources for law enforcement and first responders, better street lighting, stronger code enforcement, and youth programs that give crime fewer places to take root.

Jobs, workforce development and Cecil Commerce Center

District 12 sits next to one of Jacksonville's greatest economic opportunities. As Cecil Commerce Center grows, residents here should benefit through local hiring, apprenticeships and real workforce training.

Small businesses and entrepreneurs

As a business owner I know what it takes to meet payroll and navigate government. I will work to cut unnecessary barriers and open city contracting to the small and minority-owned businesses of the Westside.

Housing, homeownership and neighborhood stability

Working families are worried about staying in their communities. I support affordable and workforce housing, homeownership, help for seniors staying in their homes, and enforcement against neglected properties.

Youth and family opportunities

City Council does not run our schools, but the city can be a strong partner. After-school and summer programs, youth employment, recreation and mentoring keep opportunity close to home.

Fiscal responsibility and accountable government

Three questions on every major expense: is it necessary, does it benefit Jacksonville residents, and can we afford it without an unnecessary burden on taxpayers. Residents should know where their dollars go.

Accessible leadership

Representation does not end on Election Day. Regular community meetings, listening sessions and real constituent service, working directly with HOAs, businesses, churches and community organizations.

Why I'm running.

I am running for Jacksonville City Council in District 12 because this district is growing, and the decisions made over the next four years will help determine what the Westside looks like for decades. I am running to make sure our residents have a strong voice in those decisions.

As a mother of three children who all attended public schools, I have seen firsthand the impact that education has on a child's future. As an educator, business owner, healthcare professional and former college instructor, I have spent my career training, mentoring and helping others reach their full potential, and I want to bring that same commitment to the neighborhoods, families and small businesses of District 12.

For more than 20 years I have worked in education and workforce development, training healthcare professionals, teaching at the college level and operating my own vocational school. That work taught me what it takes to connect people to real careers, which is exactly what District 12 needs as Cecil Commerce Center keeps growing.

I am not running because I am a politician. I am running because I am a mother, educator, business owner and community leader who believes the Westside deserves a councilwoman who listens, shows up, and makes sure this district gets its fair share.
